Switzerland : Hublot launches 'BIG BANG'

"Big Bang" is a fated name for a watch whose powerful statement glorifies the ultimate watchmaking brand with the singular and timeless design: HUBLOT.

In 1980, Hublot unexpectedly teamed gold with rubber to give birth to a unique timepiece. Twenty-five years later, the brand has reinterpreted its very DNA with a fresh exploration of its guiding principles: The novel fusion of materials such as gold and ceramic, Kevlar and rose gold, tantalum or rubber – and the fusion of movements combining the Tradition of Swiss Horology with the Visionary Art of 21st century Watchmaking.

"Big Bang" is the first watch to feature lateral recognition. The sides of the "Big Bang" make it stand apart from other timekeepers due to two aspects. Firstly, the amazing natural black rubber Hublot strap that has symbolised the brand ever since its creation appears to pass directly through the body of the watch due to the clever addition of a Kevlar insert, and secondly, the multi-layered construction of its case that allows a play on materials."Big Bang" is the quintessential key to the new Hublot Fusion concept.

A "Big Bang" of grandiose proportions conceals the Hublot’s timeless sportiness and elegance so worthy of admiration. The case has been enlarged to 44.5 mm, the angles are sharper and the play of superimposed layers around the lugs rests on the brand’s 4 mainstays: Swiss Watch making Tradition, the Visionary Art of Watch making, the Fusion of materials and state-of-the-art technology, and Aesthetic innovation.

Switzerland : Hublot presents unique Tourbillon 'SoloT' for a cause

Hublot is proud to present a unique version of its Flying Tourbillon “SoloT” realized especially for the charitable auction “Only Watch 2005”: The entire proceeds of this auction organised by Antiquorum will be donated to the Monegasque Association against Duchenne’s Muscular Distrophy (AMCM), Association presided by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

The unique Flying Hublot Tourbillon “SoloT” created for “Only Watch 2005” is one of the purest Tourbillon ever presented, combining the noblest new materials with the latest state-of-the-art technologies through an interpretation of the top side of the bottom plate, which recaptures the aesthetics of ultimate cutting-edge techniques inspired by the printed circuit. The bridges have been lacquered in red to replicate the armorial bearings of Monaco.

The outstanding “SOLO T” Tourbillon is an exclusive flying Tourbillon measuring 13 1/4 Parisian lines, 30 mm in diameter, housed in a 13 mm diameter cage without ball bearing and raised 2.80 mm above the bottom plate.

This tremendous feat of watchmaking engineering creates the illusion that the “SOLO T” Tourbillon is suspended in mid-air, hence the term ‘flying’, and, for the first time, is open to view on all sides, including laterally. It also comprises a Gyromax type balance spring with gold regulating inertia-blocks and has a power reserve of over 120 hours.

Hublot has chosen a totally minimalist opalin dial with Clou de Paris decoration in order to enhance this remarkable flying Tourbillon.
